MEAT CRUST PIE 
1 lb. ground beef, lean
1/4 c. grated onion
2 tsp. salt
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. minute rice
3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 c. water
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1/8 tsp. each oregano and pepper

Combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, green pepper, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, seasonings, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce. Mix well and pat into bottom and sides of greased 9 inch pie plate.

Combine remaining 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, the water, minute rice, and 1/2 cup of the cheese. Spoon mixture into meat shell. Cover and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 25 minutes. Top with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, 10 to 20 minutes longer.
