SWEET POTATOES 
6-8 med. sweet potatoes or 5-6 med. yams
3 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. dark corn syrup or molasses

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Boil potatoes 15 minutes in large pot of water. Peel and cut potatoes in half lengthwise. Arrange potatoes in buttered dish. Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter. Bake 25 minutes. Pour syrup over top and bake 25 minutes longer.
