COCONUT POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 c. coconut
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. coconut flavoring

Cream Crisco, butter and sugar. Beat in 5 eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to above mixture. Then add buttermilk, coconut and flavoring. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. coconut flavoring

Bring to boil and boil 1 minute. Stick cake top all over and pour topping all over.
