WIND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
5 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cold water
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar (put in egg whites)
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring

To beaten eggs, mash and gradually add the 1/2 cup water. Beat until fluffy. Add the sugar gradually, beating continually. Continue until no grains of sugar remain. Then add flour and baking powder little at a time. Then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla. Pour in tube pan. Bake at 320 degrees. Cool before removing from pan.
