CAKE WAFFLES 
Cream together 3/4 cup shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add 4 egg yolks, beaten until lemon colored and 1/3 cup milk.

1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Fold in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 4 egg whites, beaten until stiff. Bake in waffle iron. May be frozen and thawed before use. Top with ice cream and fruit. Makes 4 to 10 waffles.
