DROP TEA CAKES 
2 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter and shortening with an electric mixer. Add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla and egg. Add flour mixture and beat until smooth; blend in milk. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheets. Flatten with bottom of glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for about 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Makes about 5 1/2 dozen.
