BACON DRESSING | |
1 lb. bacon 1 c. water 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. vinegar 2 tbsp. flour or cornstarch Cut bacon into small pieces and fry over medium heat until done but not crisp. Remove the bacon. To the bacon drippings, add water, flour or cornstarch and mix like a gravy. Add vinegar, stirring until thick. Sugar to taste. Then add bacon chips. Should be the consistency of gravy. Can be used over lettuce, endive, green beans, served with plain potatoes and meat. |
