FROSTED BANANA COOKIE 
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-3 mashed bananas
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour

Cream shortening, add sugar, egg, vanilla and bananas and blend. Add flour, salt and soda. Place by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Temperature: 350 degrees. Time: 8-9 minutes. Serves: 3 dozen cookies. Frost cooled bars with icing below.

ICING:

6 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. milk
Powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Place sugar, butter and milk in saucepan and bring to a good boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla plus enough powdered sugar to thicken.

Hint: Icing thickens quickly - keep pan in warm water if do not use right away.
