RED VELVET CAKE 
Yellow cake mix
1/2 c. Crisco oil

Add eggs to mix and use buttermilk instead of water. 2 tbsp. red food coloring 1/4 tsp. baking soda

Make paste and add to cake. Bake as directed on package in 3 layer pans.

ICING:

3 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk

Mix icing ingredients in saucepan and cook until thick. Cool completely.

Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup Crisco and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Beat for 5 minutes. Add flour mixture and beat until smooth. Put icing between layers and over entire cake.
