DANISH APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk slightly beaten with milk to make 2/3 c.
1 c. sugar
1 egg white, beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 c. crushed corn flakes
4 lg. apples, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon

Add shortening to flour and salt and mix like pastry. Slowly add egg yolk and milk mixture to flour. Mix until moist.

Divide dough in half - roll like pie crust to fit jelly roll pan. Sprinkle with crushed corn flakes. Arrange apples on corn flakes.

Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of apples. Cover with pie crust and spread beaten egg white over top. Bake at 400 until apples are done. Frost with thin powdered sugar icing while warm.
