DANISH APPLE BARS 
PIE CRUST:

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk

OTHER INGREDIENTS:

2 handfuls corn flakes
8 to 10 apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white
1 tbsp. water
1 c. 10x sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Add milk to yolk to measure 2/3 cup. Mix ingredients including milk and eggs for pie crust. Roll 1/2 dough to fill 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 inch cookie sheet. Sprinkle bottom crust with crushed corn flakes. Peel and slice apples and place over flakes. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll out top crust and put over apples. Beat egg white stiff and brush over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Ice with 10x sugar, vanilla and water. Just drizzle over bars.
