KEMA - Indian Casserole | |
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey 1 med. onion, chopped PER POUND OF MEAT: 1 heaping tsp. curry powder 1 clove garlic 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 tsp. red pepper (optional) 1 sm. can tomato sauce 1 tsp. turmeric Brown 1/2 of onion in oil. Add other onions and garlic and stir. Add other spices and mix. Add meat and brown. Do not drain. Add tomato sauce. Cook rice and add 1 teaspoon turmeric in water to give rice a yellow color. Layer rice and meat in a casserole dish. Cook at 325 degrees for 30-40 minutes. |
