1 lb. mild sausage 1 lb. ground beef 1 sm. chopped onions 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 (2 1/2 oz.) can mushrooms, drained 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1/4 c. water 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. rosemary; optional 1 loaf Vienna bread, uncut 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese Brown sausage along with hamburger and drain. Cook onion, green pepper, mushrooms, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, Parmesan cheese, and seasonings, mixing well. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut lengthwise slice from the top of the bread an scoop out the center to form a shell. Place 1/2 of the cheese on the bottom of the shell; fill with the hot mixture; cover with remaining cheese and the top slice of bread. Wrap securely in aluminum foil and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cut into sandwiches. |
