CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE 
1 med. cabbage
4 slices bacon
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/8 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. water
1 (12 oz.) can corned beef or homemade corned beef

Wash cabbage and cut into 4 wedges. (Do not separate leaves.) Cook bacon in a Dutch oven until crisp; remove and drain bacon, keeping 3 tablespoons of drippings in Dutch oven. Crumble bacon.

Combine cabbage, bacon, red pepper, salt and water in Dutch oven. Cover and cook over medium heat 30 minutes. Add slices of corned beef and cook an additional 10 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
