FRESH APPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
2 lg. eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
4 c. diced apples
1 c. walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels

Mix sugar, Crisco, and eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Batter will be thick. Pour into 9 x 13 pan that has been greased and floured. Sprinkle 1 (6 ounce) package butterscotch morsels on top of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Test for doneness with toothpick.
