MAMA'S PLUM PUDDING 
2 c. chopped suet
1 c. chopped apples
2 c. seedless raisins
1 c. currants
1 c. molasses
1 c. cold water
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. ground cloves

Mix suet, fruits, molasses and water. Sift dry ingredients and add to fruits, etc. Mix thoroughly. Fill greased molds 2/3 full; cover tightly. (I use 1/2 pint freezer jars.) Steam 3 hours. Serve hot with hard or lemon sauce.

HARD SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter, melted
2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend.

LEMON SAUCE:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Blend.

Add 1 cup boiling water gradually to above and cook. Stirring constantly, until thick. Cook on low heat about 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons butter and 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice.
