TOFFEE SQUARES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 (1 oz. ea.) squares Hershey's chocolate
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt until well blended. Pat into rectangle on greased 10x13-inch baking sheet, leaving 1-inch around edge. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until nicely browned. It will be soft.

Remove from oven and immediately place squares of chocolate on top. Let stand until soft, then spread. Sprinkle with nuts and cut while warm.

Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
