NEVER FAIL CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. cocoa
3/4 c. hot water
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 unbeaten eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook cocoa and hot water until thick like whipped cream. Cool. Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift flour, measure and sift again with soda and salt. Add sour milk and flour alternating with the creamed mixture. Then add the cocoa mixture. Add vanilla and mix.
