BAKED CUSTARD WITH CARAMEL SAUCE 
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. milk, scalded
1 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs, slightly beaten

Sprinkle brown sugar in bottom of 1 1/2 quart casserole. Slowly stir scalded milk into eggs. Add salt and vanilla. Pour over brown sugar carefully. Do NOT stir. Bake custard in pan of hot water in a 350 degree oven for about 1 hour or until mixture doesn't adhere to knife inserted in center of custard.
