BARBECUED SAUERKRAUT 
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can (16 oz.) sauerkraut, drained
3/4 c. brown sugar
5 strips bacon, cut up
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes with juice, cut up

In small skillet, sauté bacon and onion together. In 2-quart casserole combine kraut, tomatoes, brown sugar, bacon and onions. Bake uncovered in 350°F oven for 2 hours. Casserole should look caramelly around the edges.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
