WILETA'S BREAD AND BUTTER
PICKLES
 
4 quart unpeeled thinly sliced cucumbers-about 12
6 medium white onions sliced
2 green peppers chopped
1/3 c. salt
1/2 tsp. tumeric
3 tbsp. mustard seed
3 whole garlic pods
5 c. sugar
3 c. white vinegar
1-1/2 tbsp. celery seed

Add cucumbers, peppers, onions, garlic and salt. Cover with cracked ice. Mix. Let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over cucumbers. Heat just to boiling. Seal in sterilized jars.
