ALMOND BARS 
CRUST:

2 sticks butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix well and add:

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cut until crumbly. Place 1/2 to 2/3 of above mixture in 9x13 pan. Press down firmly.

Beat until smooth:

1 1/2 c. almond paste (3/4 lb.)
1 c. sugar
3 eggs

Pour over base. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over top and pat down. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. After baked sprinkle with powdered sugar.
