PEAR CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
2 2/3 c. flour
3 c. chopped pears
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. cooking oil
1 c. chopped dates

Cream sugar, oil and eggs; beat well. Sift together all dry ingredients; add to egg mixture. Add vanilla and beat well. Fold in dates, nuts, coconut and pears with spoon. Cook in greased and floured tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
