PECAN TASSIES 
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 egg
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash salt
2/3 c. coarsely broken pecans

CHEESE PASTRY: Let cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter soften at room temperature., then blend together. Stir in flour. Chill about 1 hour. Shape into 2 dozen 1" balls; place in ungreased 1 3/4" small muffin pans. Press dough evenly against the bottom and sides of each muffin cup.
