BROILED CHICKEN 
1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt (to taste)
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 chicken, halved & seasoned with salt, pepper & garlic salt

Heat all ingredients (except chicken) until boiling. Remove from heat and add more garlic salt and vinegar to taste. Wash chicken; pat dry with paper towels. Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Generously rub sauce on both sides of chicken. Broil on lowest rack for about 20 to 25 minutes on each side or until done. Combine pan drippings and remaining sauce and use as gravy if desired. Serve with rice.
