1/2 tbsp. butter 2 lbs. round or chuck steak 1 env. onion soup mix 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces 1 green pepper, sliced 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, chopped 1 tbsp. A-1 sauce (optional) 2 tbsp. cornstarch Drain tomatoes and save 1 cup juice. Line 13x9-inch pan with double foil, with ends extending long enough to fold and seal. Butter center of foil. Cut steak into serving pieces, arrange on foil, slightly overlapping. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, mushrooms, green pepper and tomatoes. Season. Mix tomato juice, A-1 sauce, and cornstarch and pour over meat. Bring foil up over and double fold edges to seal tightly. Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 375 degrees. |
