BIG YELLOW CUCUMBER PICKLES | |
Use enamel pot Mix 1 cup lime to 2 gallons of water. Soak cucumber slices 24 hours in lime water. Rinse in 3 different cool waters. Soak 3 hours in ice and water. Remove from water. Make Syrup: 5 lbs. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 1/2 box pickling spice tied in cloth Pour syrup over cucumbers. Let set overnight. Boil 15 minutes and pack in hot jars. Seal. |
