MOLASSES COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses (Brer Rabbit or any sorgum)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
2 3/4 c. flour

Cream butter with sugar and blend well. Add molasses, egg and vanilla. Beat thoroughly. Combine soda, salt and flour. Add to first mixture, mix well and shape into a roll. Roll in wax paper and store in refrigerator overnight. Slice thin, place on buttered baking sheet in moderate oven; 375 degrees for 12- 15 minutes. Makes 5-6 dozen cookies.
