HOT BARBECUE SAUCE 
2 1/2 c. chili sauce
1 tsp. chili peppers (or 1/2 tsp. chili powder)
3/4 c. olive oil
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. tarragon vinegar
1 bay leaf
2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/3 c. water
2 c. finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp. salt

Combine ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add roast beef or hamburger to make good "Sloppy Joes" or use to baste spareribs, lamb or chicken.
