PLUM KUCHEN 
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. unsifted all purpose flour
14-16 Italian plums

Cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla and flour and mix well. Spread batter in buttered and floured 11 inch round shallow pan (Tart pan with removable bottom is best).

Cut 14-16 Italian plums in half. Remove pits. Arrange cut side up over the batter, placing close together. Sprinkle fruit with 2-3 tbsp. sugar.

Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool in pan 30 minutes, then remove. Serve hot or cold. Thirty minutes before serving, dust with powdered sugar.
