2 c. oatmeal
3 sticks butter
3 c. boiling water

Pour water over oatmeal and butter. Cover and steam for 20 to 30 minutes or cook on low for 20 minutes. 2 c. white sugar 4 eggs 2 tsp. cinnamon 3 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all of the above ingredients together, including oatmeal and butter and pour into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until "toothpick test" shows doneness.

After cake is cool, spread icing over cake.

ICING:

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 c. chopped pecans
4 tsp. vanilla

Mix and cook 10 minutes in saucepan.
