BLUEBERRY BUCKLE 
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soft shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. well drained blueberries

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a square pan, 9 x 9 x 1 3/4 inches. Mix sugar, shortening, and egg thoroughly. Stir in milk. (I save several tablespoons flour to coat blueberries.) Blend flour and other dry ingredients in liquid mixture. Fold in floured berries. Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with topping.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. soft butter

Sprinkle on top of batter and bake 45 to 50 minutes. Makes 9 (3 inch) squares. NOTE: Test before baking time is up so as not to overbake.
