PARTY PUNCH BOWL DESSERT 
1 box yellow cake mix
2 lg. boxes strawberry gelatin
2 lg. containers Cool Whip
2 lg. (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen sliced strawberries
2 lg. pkgs. reg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
Fresh strawberries for garnish

Use two (8 inch) round layer cake pans and a clear glass punch bowl. Make cake according to box directions. Cool; cut layers horizontally by pulling string through so you have 4 layers. Make vanilla pudding according to package directions and let cool.

Mix 2 1/2 cups boiling water with 2 packages strawberry gelatin to dissolve. Add the 2 packages of partially thawed berries. Put in refrigerator until mixture thickens -- but do not let it get too firm.

TO ASSEMBLE: In the punch bowl add 1/4 of the gelatin mixture. First layer of cake, 1/4 more gelatin, spread a layer of Cool Whip, then a layer of pudding. Second layer of cake, gelatin, Cool Whip, pudding. Third layer of cake, gelatin, Cool Whip, pudding. Fourth layer of cake only, topped with thick layer of Cool Whip, garnish with fresh, sliced berries.

You can make this the night before but do not put last layer of Cool Whip on until an hour or so before serving. Use large serving spoon to scoop out servings.
