1 qt. jars
1/8 tsp. alum
1 clove garlic
2 sprigs dill
1 tsp. red pepper
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 qt. vinegar
3 qt. water
1 c. salt

Slice cucumbers. Put 1 sprig of dill in bottom of jar. Pack in cucumbers, then put in rest of ingredients. Heat vinegar, water, salt; pour over cucumbers and seal.
