MOLASSES COOKIES 
3/4 c shortening
1 c sugar
1/4 c Briar Rabbit Molasses (Gold Label)
1 egg
2 tsp baking soda
2 c flour
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt

Melt shortening then let cool. Ad sugar, molasses and egg. Mix well with mixer. Sift dry ingredients together; add to first mixture. Chill well. Form into balls and roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350°F until they start to crack. About 6 - 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Leave on cookie sheets for a few minutes.

Makes about 3 dozen.
