“WAFFLES” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  YOGURT PANCAKES

WAFFLES 
2 cups sifted cake or pastry flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
5 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat waffle iron.

Whisk together baking powder, salt, and sugar. Beat eggs. Add milk and blend. Combine with dry ingredients. Add butter and beat until just mixed.

Bake in hot waffle iron. Serve hot with melted butter and jam or jelly.

Makes about 4 waffles.

Note: Buttermilk may be substituted for milk. Decrease baking powder to 1 teaspoon; add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
