CHEESE BALL 
1/4 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (about 12 oz.)
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts or snipped fresh parsley
Assorted crackers

Place butter in small bowl. Microwave at High for 10 to 20 seconds, or until butter softens. Place cream cheese in medium mixing bowl. Microwave at Power Level 5 for 30 to 60 seconds, or until cream cheese softens. Blend in softened butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder and garlic powder. Stir in Cheddar cheese. Microwave at Power Level 1 for 5 minutes. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until smooth. Shape into ball. Roll in nuts to coat. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Serve with crackers. Yield: one 4 inch cheese ball.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
