AMISH FRIENDSHIP CAKE 
Do not refrigerate the starter or use an electric mixer. Only stir with a metal spoon.

Day 1: When you receive your starter, put it in a large glass bowl and cover with plastic wrap.

Day 2: Stir.

Day 3: Stir.

Day 4: Stir.

Day 5: Add 1 cup each of flour, sugar and milk.

Day 6: Stir.

Day 7: Stir.

Day 8: Stir.

Day 9: Stir.

Day 10: Add 1 cup each of flour, sugar and milk. Take out 3 cups and give 1 cup each to two friends, along with the recipe. Keep one cup for yourself. To the remaining batter add: 2 tsp. baking soda 2/3 c. oil 1 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3 eggs 2 chopped apples, small pieces

Optional: 1/2 cup nuts, raisins, oatmeal, chocolate chips, coconut. Bake in greased, floured bundt pan (or 2 loaf pans) at 350 degrees for 55 minutes (40 to 45 for loaf pans). No frosting needed.
