APPLESAUCE NUT BREAD 
BREAD:

3/4 c. gran. sugar
1 c. applesauce
1/3 c. oil
2 eggs (or 4 egg whites or egg substitute equivalent to 2 eggs)
3 tbsp. skim milk
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. chopped pecans

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, applesauce, oil, eggs and milk. Mix together thoroughly.

Sift together the flour, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg. Beat dry ingredients into the applesauce mixture until well combined. Stir in the pecans.

Turn the batter into well oiled 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped pecans

Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans. Sprinkle evenly over the batter, and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cap loosely with foil after the first 30 minutes of baking. When done, remove from the pan and cool on a rack. Yield: 1 loaf (16 slices). Approximately calories or servings, 215.
