WILD RICE HOT DISH | |
1 lb. wild rice 1 lg. onion, chopped Several stalks celery, chopped 2 cans mushrooms (whole or sliced as you prefer), drained 1 can beef consomme 1 lb. ground beef or veal, browned (1 or 2 cans of chicken can be used instead of or in addition to the beef or veal, if desired) 2 cans cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup Prepare wild rice in a double boiler. Boil onion in a small amount of water until slightly tender. Prepare celery the same way, but separately. Mix rice, onion and celery with the meat in a crockpot. Add mushrooms, consomme and soup and heat until very hot. Easy and popular potluck dish to serve a large group. |
