CHERRY NUT BREAD 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
12 chopped Maraschino cherries
3/4 c. nuts
2 eggs (beaten)
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. Maraschino cherry juice

Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Stir in cherries and nuts. Combine liquid ingredients and add to dry ingredients. Stir only until flour is moistened. Makes 1 loaf pan or 4 mini loaf pans. Bake 350 degrees for 60 minutes.
