BROWN BREAD 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. whole bran cereal
2 c. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. melted butter
1/2 c. molasses
1 c. seedless raisins

Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Sift and stir in cornmeal and add nuts. Combine bran cereal and buttermilk. Let stand 5 minutes. Stir in egg, butter, molasses and raisins. Add dry ingredients and stir until just moistened. Bake in 350 degree oven about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
