MOTHER'S OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
4-5 c. peeled and sliced tart apples
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. butter
Pastry for double crust pie
Milk

Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon; stir in water. Add apples; coat thoroughly. Pour into pastry and dot with butter. Place top crust on pie; cut design in top to allow steam to escape.

Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes until golden brown.
