HOLIDAY COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
Food colors and decorations
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add dry ingredients together; blend into egg mixture. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. roll dough 1/8 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Frost when cooled.

FROSTING:

2 tsp. softened butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
Milk to spread

Mix together.
