CORN MEAL CHEESE BISCUITS 
1 1/2 cups Self-Rising flour
1/2 cup white Self-rising cornmeal
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup grated cheese
3/4 cup milk

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Mix together the flour and cornmeal. Cut in shortening. Stir in cheese. Add milk and stir lightly with a fork.

Turn onto a lightly floured work surface and knead just until smooth.

Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a cutter which has been dusted with flour.

Bake on lightly greased baking sheet in hot oven for 12-14 minutes.

Yield: 12-14 biscuits.
