CHILI CON CARNE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tsp. chili powder
1 qt. seasoned tomato juice
1 med. onion, finely diced
Salt & pepper to taste
1 pt. dark red kidney beans

Brown ground beef in heavy pan or skillet, adding onion, salt, pepper, green pepper and chili powder as it cooks. Remove excess grease, add kidney beans, stir in until well mixed, then add tomato juice and simmer to blend flavors. (I use home canned beans and tomato juice and I add celery and onion to the tomatoes to flavor the juice.)
