MIKE'S HEAVENLY CRISPS | |
1 1/4 c. light brown sugar 1/4 c. light corn syrup 5 tbsp. butter, unsalted, cut up 1 tbsp. cider vinegar 1/4 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits 3/4 c. chopped, salted nuts Bring sugar, corn syrup, butter, vinegar and water to boil in heavy saucepan over medium heat. Boil until deep golden brown (swirl pan gently while heating); stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9"x13" baking pan. Spread with wooden spoon and let cool completely. Melt chocolate bits in double boiler and spread over cooled candy. Sprinkle chopped nuts over chocolate and press in. Chill 1/2 hour. Remove from pan and cut in serving pieces. |
