CHINESE PEPPER STEAK 
1 lb. round steak, cut in very thin strips
2 tbsp. shortening
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed onion soup
1/2 soup can of water
1/2 c. chopped canned tomatoes
2 tsp. soy sauce
1 lg. green pepper, cut in strips
1 tbsp. cornstarch

Brown steak in shortening and pour off fat. Sprinkle with pepper. Add soup, water, tomatoes, soy sauce and green pepper. Cover. Cook over low heat 30 minutes until tender. Stir now and then. Mix cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth. Gradually stir into sauce. Cook over low heat until thickened.
