OYSTER DRESSING | |
1 box saltines milk butter salt and pepper, to taste 10 oz. container of oysters Grease a 8 inch x 8 inch or 9 inch x 9 inch pan. Take one package of saltines and crush them into the bottom. Cut oysters into small pieces and put them every 1 - 2 inches apart. Cut small dabs of butter and put them every 1 - 2 inches apart opposite oysters. Shake on some salt and pepper. Pour on milk until this layer is saturated and mushy. Repeat layers until you run out of oysters. Pour oyster juice on top layer and really saturate the whole casserole with milk. Put in 350°F oven and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Pull it out when the top is brown and puffy. Serve immediately. |
