JELLIED APPLESAUCE & CREAM
CHEESE SALAD
 
2 (3 oz.) pkgs. lemon Jello
2 c. boiling water
3 c. sweetened applesauce
Red food coloring
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. finely chopped raw celery
1/2 c. chopped unsalted nuts

Add red coloring to applesauce (drop by drop until pink). Dissolve 1 package of lemon Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Cool slightly. Mix in 1 1/2 cups applesauce. Oil inside of 1 1/2 quart ring mold. Place applesauce and Jello mix in mold and put in refrigerator to harden. Soften cream cheese and mix with mayonnaise, celery and nuts.

When mix in mold is solidified, cover with a layer of the cream cheese mixture. Dissolve second package of Jello in 1 cup boiling water. Cool slightly. Add remainder of applesauce (1 1/2 cups). Pour this over cream cheese. Let stand 2 hours or until solidified.
